Hello,

could you give me your experience please ?

We are working with Domino 5.0.11 server (NT) and Notes 4.6.7 Clients.

We are planning to mirgrate to Domino 6.

Following idea:

First mirgrate the servers from 5.0.11 to 6.x and later the clients to R5 or R6(we are

not quit sure)

Will our 4.6.7 clients be able to work with the database on the new R6-servers ???

Or do we have to migrate all clients to R5 first, than servers to R6 and than clients

to R6 ? Please say no, we have 6000 clients… :slight_smile:

Are there any other advantages / disadvantages doing the servers to R6 first and

the clients later o

As long as you don’t use ND6 design features in your applications (and don’t implement ND6 mail templates!) your 4.6.x users should be able to access the databases just fine. Of course your admins will need ND6 clients for adminstraion purposes, that’s obvious.

Migrating from 4.6.7 to ND6 is a supported option, maybe you should check the ND6 upgrade guide (a redbook, see
