I am testing the notes client to hopefully move away from Outlook and as much Microsoft products as possible. I’ve tried the NUPGRADE tool to try to convert my Outlook PST but I keep getting an error. For some reason the upgrade tool is working. I keep getting missing parameters or unable to lanch. Is there another way to convert the PST file into something Note can use?
WHen trying to import the contact from Outlook to Notes, notes says to export the file as a Vcard. In outlook XP there is no option for an vcard export.
Any suggestions? I really need and want to move away from Outlook!
I’ve used the migration tool from BinaryTree (no I don’t work for them). It was pretty good and easy. The only thing that seemed to hiccup was recurring appointments, other than that it was great. I think you can get an eval off of there web-site.

You can migrate your contacts simply by using “drag and drop”.
First, create a folder in your desktop and open it.
Then, open Microsoft’s Address Book (Start, Run, wab), select all your contacts and drop them into the folder you created previously.
After that, simply open your Notes’ Adress Book and drag the .vcf created files inside. It will pop an annoying window for each contact, to let you confirm if you want to import that contact, or not.
But when we talk about migrating the messages, we only had two options: in some Outlooks it works, and it doesn’t in others! When it migrates perfectly, it still scrambles the HTML messages (the non-English characters, like words with accents) are changed by another letter. When it doesn’t work, it shows an NSD window and the you simply have no other option!
