Migrate from windows to Redhat Linux

Hi all, I’m currently running 6.0.1 on windows just mail and one small app. I installled Domino 6.0 and up’ed it to 6.0.1 on a Redhat Linux server. Is it possible to just copy the data directory from windows over to the Linux data directory, stop windows, start linux and expect my clients to connect or is that just a disaster waiting to happen

In order to get it working seamlessly, you need to use the same server ID and also the same IP address.

Yes, as copy of the databases+IDs should work.

I think there is useful information in a IBM Redbook about moving to Linux.

… but be sure to set the file properties (owner) of the databases right.Domino can only read data it has access to.

I have noticed that the notes.ini is not in the data folder on the windows box. So I guess I’ll just copy the all the objects from windows data directory over to the Linux data directory and Linux will keep its own notes.ini object.
