Hello. Actually have in the company more than 500 users. They are in Domain A. Actually the comany has change the name, and I have to create a new domain and migrate all users to domain B. What´s the best way to do this without many errors?. Thanks

Hi, there is a lot of things to do. Here 's a subset of what you have to do.Modify
· Notes.ini
· Server documents
· Connections (Ex: SMTP/MTA )
· Domain document
· User documents in directory
· Groups documents in directory
Change users documents (Ex: FullName -Old Domain, owner, maildomain, mailserver, acl, etc)
In each mailfile, modify each document to change the domain.
· From
· SendTo
· CopyTo
· BlindCopyTo
· Principal
· AssignedTo
· Originator
· OriginalRouteList
· RemainingRouteList
etc.
In group, modify each members of each groups.
It’s not the full tasks you have to do but we did it in our organization and it was pretty tough.

Re: JY’s lists - This is a start for the servers and mailfiles. You must also recertify all the user ids, and touch all the client desktop to update the client Location/Connection documents.
Also, ACLs and Readers/Authors fields on all applications data must also be modified.
This is the most painful process you can put yourself through with Domino technology. While I dislike shilling for products in these venues, it is very worthwhile to look at spending some consulting dollars to have someone assist you.
At the very least, take a snapshot of your production environment (servers, mail files, applications, user desktops) and re-create it in a test environment. The company I worked for spent two weeks exercising a “fish bowl” environment (that is, a set of servers and clients in a COMPLETELY isolated environment that emulated the production environment) to get the set of procedures for the domain name change. Even so, it was still spectacularly painful getting all the users migrated, particularly users in the field. Some issues with things like repeating calendar entries persisted for months.
Additionally, start beating the drum for your users to hear. Things like mail routing and web serving may be briefly interrupted as AdminP takes over the domain(s) and does its magic. Our users complained bitterly that they had little warning of the change, and some business processes were directly affected.
If you enjoy the stress of several days of continuously ringing phones, irate users and constant monitoring, a domain migration is a splendid event. If not, I suggest hiring a knowledgeable consulting firm, and plan on taking vacation around the time of implementation.
