Hi,
I apologize if this has been asked and answered previously, but I could not find anything regarding this problem. I have been using Microsoft’s Outlook Connector for Domino for well over a year. Suddenly, it stopped working. First I could not send messages then, about a day later, I could not open the Domino mailbox at all. Here are the steps and problems I encounter:
-
Create new e-mail account in Outlook (Additional Server Types → Microsoft Office Outlook…)
-
Get presented with the Configuration dialog describing the server name (CN=/OU=<…>/O=<…>) and the path to the ID file.
-
Offline folder settings: select the .pst file to use.
-
Start Outlook.
-
Twice presented with the dialog described in step 2.
-
Try to open the mail account and receive an error dialog with the following message: “The set of folders could not be opened. The server is not available. Contact your administrator if this condition persists.”
I think I’ve eliminated any client-side reasons through a complete rebuild of the machine (another story) but the problem still exists. I had my user.id file regenerated to rule out that. Server-side, my mail database has apparently been compacted and decorrupted.
I’m convinced this is a server-side problem but cannot substantiate my suspicions. Can anyone offer any suggestions, please? Oh, I also tried using using IBM’s connector after the problem I described above appeared. I’m having mixed success with DAMO: opening the calendar hangs Outlook, some e-mail is missing, and Outlook crashes 90% of the time when exiting. Any help will be very much appreciated.
