Microsoft Alters IE Over Eolas Suit - changes affect web/iNotes mail

For those that develop for the web, Microsoft is changing some behaviors of IE. This has to do with the way the browser handles ActiveX controls and Java applets. Read about them here:http://www.eweek.com/article2/0,4149,1310572,00.asp

The article includes a link to MSDN and a downloadable executable that you can run along side your current installation of IE (if you have Windows XP SP1). I did this and hopefully IBM Lotus will change things in the template or come out with instructions because the web mail and iNotes experience as it is now using this test version of IE is not good at all. Same goes for discussion databases because of Java applets.

“Microsoft expects that new computers and retail purchases of Microsoft Windows XP will have this behavior sometime early next calendar year. Microsoft also expects that new service packs of Windows XP and Internet Explorer will have this behavior starting sometime after that…”
