I almost always want to include history and attachments in any reply. Removing history and/or deleting attachments is occasionally called for, but it is not my preferred reply option. Lotus makes the default reply behavior always drop history and delete attachments. One can go through the extra trouble of opening a drop-down and carefully selecting the desired option, but this is prone to error and easily forgotten.
Is there a way to change the default mail reply option to keep history and attachments?

I have to re-design the forms in the mail template to do this? Yuck. Seems like something that would be nice to have in user preferences.
I used to have Designer installed on my machine a couple of revs ago. It doesn’t seem to be an option in the installers my IT guy is providing. I’ll ask him to trundle me up a version for 8.x and I’ll try your suggested technique.
Thanks. Hopefully it will do what I need.

I thought that was what you were asking for, when you asked for a method by which you could change the default. This is not part of the current User Interface, but I have entered a requirement document, requesting that this feature be triaged for a future release.
