Previously, our Domino server was used as a pop3 mail server only. All clients were Outlook clients. We’ve just upgraded it to Domino 6.5.1 and decided to use Notes clients instead of using Outlook. But the strange thing is that all messages sent from Notes clients will be lost. They appear only in sent view but nowhere else. Not even in mail.box. No log is recorded. We tried using mail trace. The trace message was sent back to the sender as well. The messages sent from Outlook clients get delivered properly. What are we missing ? Please help.

If Outlook is still running, it is probably deleting the mail from the mail file after it picks up the message(s). This is normally how a pop3 client is set up.
Go into Outlook, and tell it to ‘Leave mail on Server’ (or quit using Outlook to poll for mail)

Thank you for your response. But “Leave a copy of messages on server” option is selected in Outlook client. We’ve tried sending trace message. And even trace report messages are still there in inbox. And if we send messages to these notes users using Outlook client, the messages will be routed and appeared in Inbox correctly. Any ideas??

The fact that you write “No log is recorded” suggests that the mail never hit the server. Are your shiny, new Notes clients set to a LAN location, or a disconnected loaction? If they’re set to Home or Island, then the outgoing mail is sitting in the local machines’ mail.boxs, wait for replication up to the server.

We’ve set the location to Office . And the mail file location has been set to “on server”.We’ve once switched location to Island and found that one message was pending in local mail.box . Once we switched location back to offiec that message was disappeared from local mail.box and a message "mail submitted for delivery . (1 person/group) appeared at the status bar. But again, no messages found in server mail.box. Please advise.
