Message still red even if i already read them

hi good afternoon,experts kind help me this.

when i receive an email then read that. after making close on it the message still on red color ( which means still the message is unread)

Message still red even if i already read them.

btw im using Lotus Notes 6.5.3 version.

I also have this problem, and have done a search of this forum but it didnt return anything that hepled me solve the problem.

Perphas someone would be kind enough to tell me and others here how I can set Lotus Notes to mark emails that I have read as being read, and not keeping them as unread.
