Hi All,
Had a user send a message to an ALL employee distribution list. They then attempted to recall the message and get the familar 32k limit exceeded error message. When I reviewed it with them the recall dialog box actually doesn’t show any names in the list but has a check box that you can check with no name to the right of it. Kind of strange. Any suggestions? I thought maybe of writing an agent that deletes the specific email and putting it in the NTF. Scares me though as I’d hate to purge all email. Might be a great way to free up about 400 gig of storage
Does anyone have an agent like this they are willing to share or some other suggestions?

If you have an anti-virus program installed on your server (a Domino, email-specific variety), you may be able to create a “rule” and have that program delete the errant email message as if it were a virus. Just be sure you tightly specify the message (perhaps exact subject & sender)…or you might really end up with a lot of free disk space

Thanks Rob, that’s an excellent suggestion. Unfortunately I’ve got a hardware solution sitting in front of my domino servers for spam and viruses. Might have to go get Trend for Domino or somthing like that just for a situation like this.

There is a 3rd party product called Power Tools by a company called HelpSoft that has the ability to search all mail files and delete specific messages. We use it all the time.
