Hi all
In our environment we are using Lotus domino 8.5
Some users use blackberry device for mail accessing along with lotus notes or MS outlook.
Problem is that other client(notes, outlook) receives just a single copy of every message, but blackberry device does duplication of every message. Means each message comes multiple times in blackberry.
Blackberry suggest the following cause for this problem.
The IBM Lotus Domino server includes functionality that temporarily deletes email messages from the inbox before adding them again with the same message ID. The BlackBerry Internet Service removes deleted email messages from its list of known message IDs. When the email messages are added to the inbox again, the BlackBerry Internet Service identifies them as new email messages. This is by design.
I don’t think so.
If according to blackberry, duplication may occur due to change in the message ID’s, then why doesn’t this duplication occur in outlook.
User receives single copy in outlook but multiple copies in blackberry.
Though both blackberry and outlook use the same protocol(POP3), then why this difference?
I am sure if blackberry is duplicating message due to change in the message ID, then outlook must do this duplication.
Am i right??
Any idea ??
Thanks
