I had to re-create a person so now i have this problem;with his new id he can’t open the old documents and with the old the new ones! Is there a way to solve this?
Subject: “Merge” ID’s
When you recreated the new person document, did you also create a new mail file?When you say he can’t open the old documents with the new ID is this because they are
-
in a different mail file, or
-
because of document encryption?
If 1, then what you need to do is to add the the new/old person ID to the database’s Access Control List (ACL) File-Database-Access Control List.
Will let me know how it works out?

No, i just gave him access to the old mail database he had. It is because of encryption (if the sender ha enabled this option). Do you know a way to do this?Thanx for the reply

He should be able to uncheck the encryption options in the properties box of the document. This is described in the Domino Designer Help file. Do a search for “Managing encrypted information”, or just “encryption”. If he ha many documents it will be a long and tedious job, because you can only change this setting for one document at a time.You can remove the encryption by using an agent.
First create a view that only shows documents with the field “SecretEncryptionKeys”. Use the selection formula: SELECT @Contains(@Implode(@Docfields); “SecretEncryptionKeys”)
Then use an agent with the code:
FIELD SecretEncryptionKeys := @DeleteField;
FIELD $Seal := @DeleteField;
Select the documents from which you wish to remove the encryption, and run the agent.
Be advised that I strongly suggest you try this out on a few documents, preferrably copies, and in a different database, to make sure if this works or not. If it doesn’t work, you might end up with all these documents, and nobody will be able to read/access them. If you cannot make a new database, try to copy a document, and try removing the encryption from the new document.
