Menu add-in's to lotus notes

Hi,this is upadesh.

I want to write a COM server that has methods to add new menu items to notes action menu and some functionality for those menu items.I want to call these methods from a VB client interface. For example when i click ADD button in the VB program with necessary parameters a new menu item should be added to the lotus notes.

IS it possible to dynamically change the menu items of lotus notes?

if it is possible pls refer me the link which gives some information regarding this.

Subject: Yes - to some extent

When you ask “is it possible to change Notes menus dynamically”, the answer is yes-and-no. You can add menus to the Notes’ Action menu at load time, but the menus can’t change after Notes has loaded. In other words, the menus stays the same as long as Notes client is running. Refer to standard Notes C API documentation on how to create a menu add-in application.

You can also, hook into the context menus of Notes client, which for example the Notes Menu Launcher - NML (see Voith's CODE :: Notes Menu Launcher) do. You might even be able to use NML to solve your menu tasks. Take a look!

Subject: Bob is right, but

Notes 8 will give you a bit more flexibility when it comes to plugins into the Notes client. I am not sure if on-the-fly menus is supported (not sure anyone in Westford has tried to be honest) but Eclipse will allow us a whole bunch of features in that arena that we have wanted for a long time
