Meetings Automatically Cancel

Creating Meeting requests and adding one required attendee. Usually around an hour the meeting is cancelled and automatically removed from the Chair’s calendar. The automatically cancelled meetings are about 1 month in the future.

Using 8.5.1 happens in both Basic and Standard.

Is there a setting I am missing to be able to create Meetings months in advanced.

Thanks

Doug

Subject: Canceled Meetings

What resources, if any, are you inviting to the meeting? Could those resources have a “limited advance reservation” set up in the Resource Reservation database?

Subject: Cancelled Meetings Automatically

Great question. We have a Reservation database but the meeting is still scheduled there. I have done the following:

deleted the reservation and schedule a new meeting - result = cancelled within an hour

Copy the meeting info and paste in to Location since the meeting is still booked with the reservation database - same result - cancelled within an hour

Thanks for the question… this is seriously driving me crazy

Subject: For 1 user or everyone?

Does this behavior happen to everyone or just one person? If one person, do they have a BlackBerry? If so, check this out: http://www.blackberryforums.com.au/forums/microsoft-exchange/2742-calendar-meetings-deleting.html

Subject: 1 user… and yes a blackberry is invloved

Subject: Very likely your BB / BES code

especially if R&R is not being unbooked.

You can confirm this by checking:

1: Is there a RIMCSTrack item on the Chairs copy of the entry?

2: Look at the $UpdatedBy list of the entry and the entrys parent note. See if the BES server is listed as the first entry in the item (instead of the Chair).

3: In the Invitees copy of the Cancellation notice, check the RouteServer items and see if came from the BES server. It may not if the BES is using the Chairs home server to send mail rather than sending it itself.

4: Check the BES logs for the date/time found at the top of the RouteTimes item of the invitees Cancellation notice. You will probably see some helpful log messages if you have your logging turned up.

As for the cause, that is unclear. Sometimes its user triggered (“Delete all” on the device) and sometimes its BES triggered (for assorted reasons).

Let us know what you find when you check the items above.
