Maximum size of an attachment file?

The mailbox size is not limited, but theuser is trying to send an attachment file

of 370MB and it is not being sent.

Does anyone know the maximum size of

an attached file that Domino 6.5 can

send?

Subject: Check the configuration document for the server.

On the Router tab, check the Maximum message size.

Subject: Maximum size of an attachment file?

Maximum attachment size is limited to the maximum of the richtextitem it appears in.

From the designer-help:

Rich text field size

Limited only by available disk space up to 1GB

Subject: Attachement’s are not stored in RTF’s

The actual attachement data is stored in a $FILE item. There’s only a pointer to the attachement in the RTF.

Please describe more in detail, what does is mean, “it is not being sent”

  1. Is the file really attached and processed - user has pressed the “send” button and the client mail window closes without an error message.

  2. Does the mail appear in the the routers mailbox of the Domino server?

  3. Does the user receive an error message from the router of his Domino server?

Dirk

If you want to compress or limit the max size of individual atts you can try a compression utility. See www.mk-net-work.com for example.
