Manual upload to ID Vault

I’m working with a client who is in the process of upgrading to ND 8.5. Their servers have been upgraded, so now it’s time for clients. The challenge is that their Notes client installs are inconsistent, and they would like to take the opportunity to remove and replace with 8.5 with some consistency, i.e. using Multi-user installs, consistent folder structure, etc. They have packaged the 8.5 install nicely for deployment, and the ID Vault would have been extremely useful for setup. However, Notes 8.5 is required to harvest the IDs and make them available. So, just to brainstorm and post the question, would it be possible to manually upload IDs, perhaps using a script to obtain the users’ IDs and upload them to the vault in pre-8.5 clients, subsequently making them available for use during new 8.5 client setups?

Any thoughts or ideas would be greatly appreciated…

Subject: Only thing I can think of is

If you had a trusted admin with a trusted means of procuring the notes id files from the users along with the passwords for their id files… That admin running a Notes 8.5 Notes Client could manually upload the ids to the vault by just running their Notes Client with each individuals user id.
