Just opened a ticket with support and confirmed that this is the case and that there is an open SPR on it. You can not do a major release upgrade directly to CCH2. In other words, if you are currently on Notes 6.5.4 and you install the 8.0.2 standard client and then try to install CCH2 before launching Notes once you will break your workstation beyond repair. No error until you try to launch the client.
If you already have either 8.0.2 or 8.0.2CCH1 installed and use it at least once and then install CCH2 you will be fine.
No word from support on work around or when it will be fixed.
