Mails from Addtional server is not fired to any user

Dear,

We have main server := Notesmithapur

   Addtional server := Notesmumbai

Our Notesmumbai server Operating System(OS) got currupted. So started insalling addtional server.

1.We took backup of earlier lotus folder and named as Lotus_Old in same drive

2.Have run the setup

3.But We were not able to instal addtional server.

4.So we had run the setup again.

5.The folder created while setup was run is named from Lotus to Lotus_new.

6.Now before installing Notesmumbai server we have replaced the Lotus_Old to Lotus.

7.It worked in all expects(replication is working,able to access all db’s, etc)

Ploblem is

  1. Mails from Notesmumbai server is not fired to any user. But mails are fired from Notesmithapur server.

  2. Log.nsf of notesmumbai server is not getting updated

Note:Now in the Lotus\Domino\Data\nsd.ini file it is showing :

state=0

NumInstances=1

notes.ini=d:\lotus_new\domino\notes.ini

REFRESH=2000

MONITOR=all

GENCORE=1

es.ini

REFRESH=2000

MONITOR=all

GENCORE=1

In Notesmumbai server console following error is displayed:

Error on Listen Function:NETBIOS unit/lana number specified on NOTES.INI is not valid on this system, or a network is not started

Listener task for port LAN0tcpip is suspending for 20 seconds due to listen error

I think that you made this harder than it needed to be.

If you had a backup of the server, all you needed to do was to install the Domino Server software to the same folders and then restore the Notes.INI, Server ID file, and the data.

If mail is not routing, have you looked at the message queues to determine why it isn’t routing? At the Domino console, type:

tell router sh

Maybe you need a Connection Document. Maybe Notesmumbai doesn’t have the right to deposit mail in Notesmithapur’s mail.box. Maybe Notesmumbai isn’t listed in LocalDomainServers. Maybe I’ve missed something. :slight_smile:

If the Log isn’t getting updated, I would check the ACL of log.nsf to confirm that Notesmumbai is allowed to update it.

The Error on Listen Function means that you have enabled ports on Notesmumbai that aren’t valid. This TechNote will help:

Thanks a Lot for your response !!

One query will it be OK

If I place all the files of Notes folder from Lotus_new to Lotus folder except data folder

And then delete the nsd.ini file and place the notes.ini file in the lotus under notes folder.

Simply saying merging Lotus and Lotus_new folder and keeping single notes.ini file.

ELSE

If we go for re-installation of addtional server with the backup of day before we had installed Addtional server.

Please guide us process/link of Addtional server installation it will be greatful.
