Hi,
One of my customer received duplicate mails. The strange issue is both the mails(he received 2 mails) are read(black in color) but one mail has “*” in front of it.
Can anybody help me in this.
Thanks

What Anti Virus Solution are you using? MIMESWEEPER?
I say this because there used to be an issue where an email would be scanned in memory (a copy) and then both the scan and origanal was sent.
check this out.

Thankyou Nathan for your reply.
But this is only for one customer and from an application. He reported duplicate emails coming out of the application. But the code in that application is working fine. At one time, he received 2 mails. The snapshot that he posted has both the mails in “read” status, but the second one has read “*” in the front. This is very strange. Do you have any other clue on this.

Check the user’s preferences - the message marking bit.
If your user has entered the sender and asked to see messages from the sender in black, this would over-ride the red of an unread message, but not the unread star.
I think…
