There was an email coming from a same domain and the user in the same domain did not recieve the message.
I looked at the statistics in the Messaging in the Domino Administrator at that particular time and it indicated the message wa routed with the msg below…
02/05/2007 09:24:24 AM Router: Message 004F2320 delivered to XYZ/Sales/Marketing from abc@company.com OFC41CF4CE:32C84BD4 ON85257279:004F2320 Size: 601K Time: 00:00:00 Hop Count: 2
I have experienced the exact same problem. After telling a user that “mail never disappears - it is always somewhere,” I looked into it and found that the log.nsf showed the message was “delivered” to her (as noted by the router log), but when I checked her DB, the message was not there (all docs). No mail rules, nothing strange - just not delivered. It is sporadic and unpredictable so far.
When I checked her DB’s properties (usage) on the server, there was no write or read that occurred at the same time as when the message was logged as delivered. In fact, I corresponded writes to the DB just before and just after the event with mail delivery events, but her DB was not touched when the server claims it “delivered” the message.
She was in the TO line and others were in the CC line. The same router log event showed the CC users also getting the same message ID delivered to them, and they did, in fact, received the message. But, she did not (and she isn’t wrong).
I have personally seen it happen in realtime as well to another user - same symptoms. Router logs on the user’s server shows a “delivered” message but it doesn’t get written to the destination DB.
I am shaken by this because this might be happening to other users and if I can’t trust my router logs (transferred, delivered, etc.), then we are in trouble.
I am running 6.5.5 FP2 on the server in question, and I’m afraid this is a regression but. In the 6.5.6 fix lists I am seeing many odd regressions fixed in the router/mail process, and that is a bit unnerving as well.
