Mail to group

I am trying to send a mail to a group that I have created in my local Address Book. The problem is that it is not sending the mail to the members of the group. It sends it to other members. I don’t know if it is looking for the group in another address book or if it’s working bad with the local address book.Where do I set up in which address book it has to look for groups? Is it set by default or I can set it up? where?

Is there any more place where I can set this up? How is they order in which it looks?

Thanks

On the Mail Tab of your Location Doc is a field for Recipient name lookup. By default I believe it is set to stop after first match. The search order is your personal NAB then the server NAB(s).

How are you selecting the name of the group t send the mail to, and have you tried to change the name of the group, and/or delete and group mail and start over.

Also, who is the mail going to? You said it is goint to other members, but who are those members and what if any group do they belong to?

Thanks, Kelly. In the mail tab of my location in the recipient name lookup I have “Stop after first match”.

I type the name of the group and then press F9 but it retrieves the incorrect members. It seems that it is retrieving the old members.

Do you think that the personal address book is corrupt and is bringing the old members of a group.

No, I personally do not think it is corrupt, take a look in your personal NAB and see what you have for entries. It could be that you have a dup or that you did not save the old doc. A good test is to create a new group from scratch with a new name and members and test that.

I am confused as to what you mean by old members and new members, did you create a new group or did you edit the old group.

I have edited an existing group, I added new members and deleted one or two. Then when I try to send mails it sends it to the old members. What do you mean with dup?

I will create a new one with the new members.

Thanks

Dup means duplicate records (two with the same name), if you have two it will take the members from the first one it finds.

You can change your location doc to exhaust and then try to send it to see which one or ones it finds.

Creating a new group with a new name is a good work around if you are not sure where or how to start troubleshooting.
