Mail Templates Agent Design

We have added an agent to our mail templates that is a “Before Mail Arrives” agent. This agent just moves SPAM to the Junk Mail folder.

If we make a change to the agent it gets rolled out to all the mail files when Design runs at night as it should. However some time later when Design runs at night (at least that’s when I think it happens) the little arrow in the design view goes away and the agent no longer works.

We have signed it with both the server id and with another id with the same results. We are using it on both INotes and mail6.ntf.

The same code and everything else is the same on another server, and that one keeps working with no problems.

Any ideas or suggestions will be appreciated.

I have read through that many times. As shown below, in the first paragraph that is not done, but it’s also not done on the one that works. In the second paragraph, I am not sure I understand the meaning - we have had it signed by the server and by an id called NotesAdmin.

You can suppress the agent design update by selecting the option “Do not allow design refresh/replace to modify” in the Agent Properties box.

It is necessary to disable the agent because when the agent is updated from the template, the agent from the template (including the signature in the template) replaces the agent in the user database. The agent is disabled to force the user to sign it and thus, to make it run with the appropriate security rights. (Otherwise, the mail would come from Lotus Notes Template Developers among other undesirable things.) Because the user ID file does not exist on the server, it is not possible to re-sign the agent with the user ID automatically. The only ID that is available on the server is the server ID, but having the agent run under the server ID is also unde
