Mail template displaying in a new window - how can I change this

When I had a Notes 7.0.2 client installed, I happened to somehow have the Notes mail display in a new window. Now I have Notes 8 installed and it seems to have kept the format of displaying the Mail view in a new window.

I have searched for a way to have the Notes mail display with all of my icons at the top, but I cannot find what I need to do to get it back to the ‘normal’ way.

Any assistance with this is greatly appreciated.

Subject: File - Prefs - Windows and Themes?

Assuming this is true for all apps, and not just mail – have you tried changing between the different ‘Window Management’ options under File - Prefs - Windows and Themes? Sounds like you’re looking for ‘Open each doc in its own tab’?
