Mail sending restrictions - question

We have a secondary mail domain that is all retail stores.

The mail template for this domain had been modified to block sending of messages to several “global” groups. Over the last year this has expanded to 19 groups.

This works fine.

Now they want to only allow the stores to mail certain groups (about 20) - ALL other groups (in both domains) should be blocked (only groups not individuals). Adding hundreds of groups to a list and maintaining it (as more are created) certainly does not seem like the best way to do this.

Does anyone have any suggestions on how this could be accomplished with the least amount of ongoing maintenance? Server Rules? AV-filtering third party product? Template modifications?

Thank in advance.

Subject: moderate groups

I think (I could be wrong here) what you’re talking about is moderating groups. Natively, the only way to do this is to go to the security setting for the group doc and list only those people who can send to this group as readers. However, this will only prevent the other people (the ones you don’t want to send) from seeing the group. If they know the name of the group, they can still send to it. There used to be some companies that provided a utility to moderate Notes groups but can’t think of them right now.
