Mail Rules run on "all documents"

Hi,

Does anyone know if there is a way to run rules NOT only on new incoming mail, but also on all the old mail document (the way Outlook can.

Notes rules have “All documents” as a condition choice, but I can’t seem to get this working.

Here is an example:

When All documents AND Subject contains Test

Then move to folder Test

Subject: Mail Rules run on “all documents”

Why not just use if “SUBJECT” contains “TEST?”

It should run on All Documents, if you have All Documents selected.

I have rules that are set up this way, but they only run on incoming documents, not on old or (all documents).

I really don’t understand your suggestion and how a rule can run on selected documents. Can you please give me more information on this topic?

-Thanks

This isn’t exactly the same, but will give you an idea of how to set up the agent. You just will select different actions.

Read Using an agent to delete and archive documents in HELP.

Yeah, I can write an agent to sort out all documents into folders based on my conditions, but unfortunately I don’t have time to cater every user in my company and that’s why RULES were created to organize your mail file. Now in version 6 there is a new feature added, and that is to run a rule on “all documents”. I can’t seem to get it working. If you using x6, try setting the rule to run on all documents and see if it works…

Thanks,

Subject: Got it! And I set it up and it worked.

When: subject contains Test

AND All Documents

 move to folder Admin

Subject: Mail Rules run on “all documents”

I’ll have to change the SUBJECT line of an older message to see if it truly gets All Documents, which I did and it only read the new message, nothing else from the INBOX.

Yeah, the same thing happens to me, in Outlook if you select “All documents” then it runs on all documents, but it doesn’t seem to work in Notes this way, only runs on new mail. This would be a great feature if it worked. I also can’t seem to find good documentation of this feature…
