Mail rules dont work!

Hi!I recently installed Lotus Notes in my company for 5 users. The domino server is installed on our company server. The installation type is client install, so the users work with the databases on local hard drives.

But mail rules don’t work. They don’t work on all 5 workstations and even if the users work with a databases on server.

And they never worked after the installation of the Notes clients.

Also reminders on calendars events don’t work.

Can anybody help me with this?

I tried to modify user access and ACL lists but that didn’t helped…

I am assuming when you say local you mean that they have a local replica of their mail file and then replicate that local copy with a server copy. Is this the scenario you have?**Have you tried editing and/or re-ordering your mail rules?

Tried running these debug vars on mai file?:

DEBUG_RULE=1

** Please note, that Mail Rules are executed by the router on the server. If the rule is never replicated up to the server and/or the server is not used for mai routing (meaning no mail router task is running on the server) then mail rules will never work.

I am new at lotus notes and don’t know how to use debug vars… Where do i input them?I checked my router task on server and it seems to be running fine and i work on a lotus client with a databases set on server and in locations i have configured that my mail goes trough domino server and not directly trough internet but the mail rules still not working…

If anyone had same problems or have some suggestions please post.

I want to thank you for your help on lotus mail rules. I always wondered do they needed a server to run or just a client. I have searched the internet and even opened a pmr to ibm, but no one gave me the answer to that simple question!

Yes, you assumed correctly, users work with replicas on local hard drives not on server because the server is located in another company and work with the server databases is to slow. Than i had problems with a domain I created for users on domino server because it was marked as spam domain…

After that incident I have decided to reroute all mail directly through internet and just replicate their mail databases to server from time to time.
