I currently have taken a look at our Mail routing Topology map in the Messaging>Mail section of Administrator. The current map is over 5 years old. As I am a new admin to this company I would like to know if there is a way to update this topology.

Just have a look to your hub (administration) server - is the “maps extractor” task running?
Start it in the console with “load maps”.
But stop the task sometimes later - it is not necessary and needs only some ressources.
