Mail Restore Question

I have a mail file that I had to restore due to the “Replicator Deleted 10,201 Documents” randomly. So I restored the mail file, but now need to know if there is a way to merge the mail files with out me having to copy and paste 1500 documents at a time from the restored file to the server replica that is in production?

Thanks

Subject: Mail Restore Question

Hi,

What about replicating the restored mail to the actual one?

You may need a help from a small application you can download called “delstubs.exe”.

You can download it from here.

Hi,

Usually, I do archiving to merge restore mailbox to current mailbox.

Just set the archive setting in restore mailbox to point to current mailbox.

Ivan,I am trying to archive a restored mail db to a current copy of the mail db to merge the boxes together. But, when I run the archive, I receive the Archive Failed, Special Database Object cannot be found error message. I have searched and can’t find anything on this error, is there anyone out there that has found a solution? Thanks for any help.

Hi Tim,

Sorry for late reply.

Make sure the mailbox template is same.

And The archive setting is already correct:

Archive setting - Basic Tab:

Archiving will be performed from Local to Server.

Specify the filename of archive db:

target this to your mailbox on server.

Advanced setting: don’t enable any options here.

After that, try to archive one email first, then see if it is successful or not.

Also, make sure your mailbox has not exceeded quota.

Regards,

Ivan
