A user, Bill O’Neill, has been sending emails that show his address as bo’neill@domain.com. This is wrong. His correct address is boneill@domain.com. Any replies to bo’neill@domain.com are BOUNCING. Where do I fix this, or better, can I create another mail database for bo’neill@domain.com and add auto forwarding from bo’neill@domain.com to boneill@domain.com?Thanks,

Check the Internet Mail Address on the Basics Tab in the user’s Location document. This is the address that is used when someone (outside your company) replies to an email. It doesn’t matter how you have it in the person document.

I checked the admin help for location documents and it appears the only way to see them is to look thru the notes client on the workstaion. If this is correct, ie, the location documents are on the workstation and not on the Domino server, please confirm. Thanks My user is not at our office.

You are correct, the location document is actually stored in the PAB. We replicate copies of everyone’s names.nsf to the server for backups (we just rename them). If you have them on the server, you can go in as Full Access Admin and check it there. It’s in the PAB under Advanced, Locations.

Try adding “bo’neill” as another entry in the ‘User name’ field of his Person document.

I think that you will find that the “'” mark is not a valid character in an internet e-mail address. It will bounce based on that character alone, and I don’t think that there will be anything that you can do about that.

I can’t test it right now but I’m looking at an (Exchange) directory with lots entries such as o’connorx@domain.org.

You are right, I just tested with an address with an “'” in it, and it does work.
