I recently upgraded our Domino domain to R6.5.5 from R6.5.3 IF2. Upgrade went smoothly but after the upgrade, the Mail Probes that I had configured in the Monitoring Configuration database no longer are functioning. They were working well before the upgrade. Here is a brief description of our setup. One master probe server (our replication/routing hub server) probes all servers every ten minutes by sending mail to a mail probe mail-in database located on the various servers. We then have a secondary probe server that simply probes the master probe server to ensure it is functional. Everything was working flawlessly until the upgrade.
In an attempt to resolve the issue, I have deleted the old mail.box’s on the servers, refreshed the design of the Events4.nsf, and re-saved all associated event handler and generator documents.
Before the upgrade, I could watch the console of the master probe server and see mail being routed to all of the other servers. Now the Domino console is quiet.
I have called IBM Support but I wanted the community to be aware that there appears to be a problem with mail probes in Domino R6.5.5. I will update this post once I get a solution from IBM Support.

I am sorry to reply that I have not (nor has IBM) found a solution to his problem. I have also tested this on clean (non-upgraded) 6.5.5 code and have the same problem. Unfortunately when I contacted IBM, they were unable to reproduce the problem. Now that I know that you are both experiencing the same problem, I would recommend that you contact IBM support and add your information to my PMR. My PMR# is 11616,379,000.
If I receive back any information, I will post it in this thread.

IBM has resolved the issue with Mail Probes not functioning in R6.5.5. If you are having this problem, contact IBM support. Domino Hotfix 655HF430 resolves the issue. Hopefully this fix will be incorporated into future releases of R6.5.x.

Will appreciate if you can update with the findings.
Even we are facing the same issue here after upgrading from 4x to 5 the document went missing however the notification still worked as we received mail notification.
However after upgrading from 5x to 6.5.5 the event notification stopped working altogether.
