Mail not delivered to group

Hi,

I have a problem with smtp-mails that are addressed to a group seated at a secondary adressbook and have to be delivered to the members of that group.

The mails are sent from an external mailsystem via smtp and are adressed to the group. I can see that the server receives the mail via smtp, but then there ist no routing to the group or members of the group. The message simply disappears without a trace.

Mails sent to single receipients are delivered correctly!

Has anyone seen this happen before?

Did you configure Directory Assistance for the secondary Address book?

Yes, DA is configured and working (at least for users).

Messages sent to internet mailaddresses of users are delivered (just not to internet mailaddresses of groups), messages from Notes-clients to those groups are delivered too!

I believe for R5 Notes, that groups/addresses only work in the primary address book. However, this was modified for R6 - with regard to group authorization.

I’ll ask the obvious, in the Group Doc, did you provide an internet address for the group?

Did you try sending to a group listed in your primary address book (for instance, check the syntax: mygroup@thisDom.com vs. my_group@thisDom.com vs. my group)

Not sure this is relevant, but here’s an excerpt from the section in the administration Help:

To use one additional directory for group authorization, do the following in the Directory Assistance document for the directory:

On the Basics tab, next to “Make this domain available to,” select “Notes clients and Internet Authentication/Authorization.”

On the Basics tab, next to “Group Authorization,” choose Yes.

See if that helps.

of course I did (and it works)!

Can’t find that item, but I think you are talking about authorization, what is not my problem. I just want to send mails to the members of the group.

Ok, I just tested a group in a secondary directory that I added to Directory Assistance.

I restarted the server and attempted first to send an internal email to that group - no problem.

I know in R5, you couldn’t send mail to a group listed in a secondary address book, but remembered that was changed for R6.

Can you tell me if you have directory assistance configured for your server? You will find it in the Administrator>>Configuration>>Directory for the server.
