Mail Link

Hi All,

In a part of my application, a form should be submitted to another person sending him a mail. The mail should contain a link to the filled form.I could get the link on the mail to the database which consists all documents. But I need the link to the specific document. Can someone help me to do this task?

Subject: Mail Link

save the document you want to send as doc

create a field body in the documentand then enter

If Not doc Is Nothing Then

Call Body.AppendDocLink( doc, "", "Click here to open the doc link")

End If

Hi Boner,

Thank you very much for your response. But it does not work with my application. Currently I use the code below.

Set rtitem = New NotesRichTextItem( Maildoc, “Body” )

	Call rtitem.AppendText(mailcontent)

	Call rtitem.Addnewline(1)

Call rtitem.AppendDocLink( db,db.FilePath, "Please click here to view the details" )

This code creates a link in the e-mail to the database. Then the receiver of the mail will have to select the correct document among them. Therefore I need to create this link to the specific document which submits by the user. Do you have a solution for this?

Subject: RE: Mail Link

in your code just replace :Call rtitem.AppendDocLink( db,db.FilePath, “Please click here to view the details” )

with

Call rtitem.AppendDocLink( doc,“”, “Please click here to view the details” )

you need to link the doc and not the db

the doc is the document you need the link to and it must be saved before

Hi Boner,

Thats ok. But according to my requirement, the user just fill the form (doc) and submit. Then another person will receive a mail informing the submission of the document. That mail should contain a link to that document. There shoul not be additional save of the document. Hope you got the idea. Do you have a solution to do it in that way? Thanks,

Sudantha

the save is of the document the user saved in the begining there is no need to save the memo document.all you need to do is change your code to attach the doc and not the db.

see my previous post
