Mail-in and Response Doc

I have posted this before and no one has posted a reply that would work. Here is the scenario:

  1. We have a membership database that is a “mail-in” db.

  2. From this db we send mail to members using a MEMO form. It is mailed to the member via the internet only.

What we are trying to accomplish is:

  1. When the member replies to the mail message sent from the mail-in db, we want to receive the message and have it show up as a response doc to the member record using a form called REPLY.

We have not been able to find anything in the mail header that could be used to identify the Parent doc of the MEMO we send.

Notes does not seem to add any parent doc info in the header that we can use. It does include a Message-ID but it doesn’t seem to have any relation to the parent doc.

If anyone has done this I would really appreciate some input!

Why not just extract the users email address from the reply and process based on that?

That’s what we are doing. A little less reliable than what we wanted.
