User1 returned so the group and person entries where changed so that the mail was no longer forwarded.
If user1 is mailed from the outside it is placed in its mail box. If the user1 is mailed from the inside, the mail keeps going to user2.
I am absolutely positive that the person and group entries are correct. I have looked at them a 1000 times.
If i compose a mail and type user1@company1.com it is resolved to User1/Company2. If i then select the option “Show name details” from the context menu in the “To:” box. It shows me that this user is actually user2!!
There is no forwarding agent in the mailfile of user1.
What else can there be that makes notes think that user1 is user2?
Thanks, your post put me on the right track. It was indeed a local issue.
I opened my local contacts again (i did that before but it only contained one contact under “my contacts”) and i noticed the “Recent Contacts” folder and sure enough there was an entry for this user still pointing to the user it once was assigned to. Clearing this user made it work. I told all my users to go clean up their recent contact database. Pretty annoying bug/feature. Server Address book contacts should by default take precedence over the “recent contacts” list.
