Mail formating as Username@domain to shortname@domain

Hi everyone!

I used this field :Allow messages intended only for the following internet addresses at Configuration/RouterSMTP/Restrictions and Controls/SMTP Inbound Control, as a list to allow certain user to recieve incoming mail from internet, this list is in shortname@domain format like djaime@domain.com, not in David_Jaime@domain.com. ok?

Also I set the Address lookup at Configuration/RouterSmtp/Basics as Fullname only.

Then the problem is this, where someone sends a mail to the domain in the “to” or “cc” field they write Username,

when the router deliver the mail, it says that the recipient is Username@domain, but username is ‘David Jaime’ that is no a problem.

but if this mail is sento to internet like, the original sender gets the internet address name like ‘djaime@domain’, but any cc appear like ‘David_Jaime@domain’, so when they try to response all, the mail David_Jaime@domain is not listed in the

‘Allow messages intended only for the following internet addresses’ field.

So, i would like that all the mails address in the fields ‘to’, ‘cc’ in a mix mail (external/internal) route, it will have the internet address and not a formating like common name@domain

Thanks,

Both of the fields that you set only affect inbound mail - but don’t affect the way that outbound mail is sent - which is where the problem lies.

In your Configuration document - take a look at ‘MIME → Conversion Options → Outbound → Lookup Internet address for all Notes addresses when Internet address is not defined in document:’ is this enabled?

Honestly, when I set our domain up years ago, the most foolproof method seemed to be to populate the Internet Address field in the address book, and never allow domino to try to create one.

Take a look at the subject "Enabling the Router to look up the sender’s Internet address from the Person document " in the Administrator’s guide…
