Mail File Design Refresh Failing on rollback...from R6 to R5

Hi,

I have some users who have taken it upon themselves to update their own mail file template to a a release 6 template.

My problem is when trying to refresh the design back down to a realease 5 standard template I get an error message…

“Design Refresh Failed, not all specified languages were found in design template”.

This only occurs on some files trying to be rolled back, I am unable to find what the difference is though.

Any Ideas?

Thanks in Advance

Daniel,

I was getting the same message when refreshing a database that was originally based on a standard notes template, but had had the inheritance link changed to one of our own bespoke ones.

It seemed like the problem was caused by some of the design elements having a ‘$Language’ property being set (Second tab of the design properties for an element).

As it was a very small database, we were able to manually re-create all of these elements (with no language set), after which the refresh was OK. Unfortunately that would not seem to be an option in your case, but I hope this helps point you in the right direction anyway.

Dear All

I had same message about “Design Refresh Failed” due to language problem. I was trying to replace r6.5 template with a trusted r5 one.

Workaround was to use the r6.5 client to create a database copy of the r5 mail template or of an r5 mailfile, BUT filename it: mail5tmpl.ntf or similar.

Then declare as a template in properties and tick the 'List as advanced template…" so that it’ll appear in the next step which is Replace Design.

Then just replace design and tick to show advanced templates and pick out the one you just created.

Hope that help someone else.
