Mail file conversion from Notes to Web Access

I’ve registered a bunch of new users with standard Notes mail some time ago. Now I need them to have Web Access mail.

As I understand there are no two mail templates (StdR7Mail, DWA7) any more. Now it’s a single universal template for both mail box types. Therefore, I can not convert notes mail boxes to Web Access ones with convert utility.

Are there any right method for doing this or workaround?

Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Subject: AFAIK

You shouldn’t need to do anything. Just have users log in via dwaredir.nsf and it should just work.

Subject: Tried the advice

Thanks for your responce

I’ve tested it before: only the users registered with Web Access mail can login with the browser. The regular Notes users can not authenticate themselves in that way.

Subject: Not related to template

You don’t need to do anything with the template. Do the web users have their http password set in the Domino Directory or does Domino authenticate those users against an external LDAP for example ? Do the Notes users have credentials set properly to be authenticated via web browser ? Can they log in at all ?

Subject: Tested, notesuser logins to Notes only

Hello, DavidThanks for your answer.

1.Users’ credentials are stored in Domino directory.

2.Both users, let’s name them webuser and notesuser, have internet address and internet password set in their person documents (and directory). Both of them can login and access their mail with Lotus Notes (8.0.1).

Only the webuser can successefully login with the browser. I enter login as webuser@domain.lan (users’s internet address). Unfortunately, the notesuser@domain.lan is rejected (though he has internet address properly set up).

Subject: Did you check

the properties of the mail file (basics tab) - specifically the Web Access attributes? Mine have Javascript enabled and the other two attributes are unchecked.

Subject: Web access properties are common to all bases

AFAIK, Web Access section on the main properties tab is common for all databases. And it’s needed to configure some general parameters for db.

I have compared Web Access properties for webuser and notesuser’s - they are the same, both has javascript enabled, no SSL, allow URL open.
