Is there a way (or a software) to replicate the mail database of a user on a laptop (or desktop) without lotus notes client running. ?
Our problem is that we are using lotus notes thru citrix. But we have users that should run lotus notes on their local laptop when they are disconnected from network, and then we must replicate their mail database. One way to avoid this problem is to launch lotus notes client using citrix and launch the local lotus just for replication… Users have two lotus and are of course perturbed. Is there a way to solve this problem ?
…then why do these users also need a citrix-based client? Can’t they just always use their own copy?
It would be possible to have a program written with the C API to replicate local databases; they would have to enter their Notes password to make it run.
all user environment is provided via citrix because users work thru WAN accesses to datacenters where all their ressources are centralized, and it’s the only way to make them have good response time.We could effectively only use local lotus notes, but we would prefer not.
