Hello,
I’ve got a real problem with mail.box corruption. It gets corrupted every 2 days without any particular reasons. Only strange thing is that I have documents (2) in it that are unable to be deleted (gets an error non existant document).
Any idea???
I had this issue when running the R6.0, and the upgrade to 6.5 didn’t helped.
Any suggestions are welcome.
Sylvain

If you are running some kind of Anti-Virus or “anti-Spam” this may be the cause of the problem.
I have run into this problem from time to time (Once a week or once every 2 weeks).
It just happens from time to time. Had the problem with R4, R5, R6 and R6.5
Kill the router and SMTP router tasks. Run “fixup -F” and “Updall -R” on your mail.box’s. That should get rid of the “invalid” documents. Then restart your router/smtp. It’s not perfect, but it beats rebooting the server so you can create new mail.box’s

Hi Sylvain,

As far as I can understand, mail.box getting corrupted is because of backup system trying to lock the file when the server is running. Try to check your backup if the system can backup open files, specially domino files. Almos all backup systems can work with domino if you configure the feature. Besides, backup of mailboxes are not needed, so you can exclude them.

The problem you have with 2 documents in the mailbox, probably the mail was sent (check your log file!), and the view is corrupted, so you see 2 documents that was deleted from the database, but the view get corrupted so the documents “appears” to be there.
Hope this help,
Daniel

thanks a lot.
I had already recreated the mail.box by renaming it. I am now checking my backup software and antivirus to see which one causes the problem.
Thanks again,
Sylvain

Do you have tray this?Shutdown your domino server and delete mail.box, restart your server.
Domino makes a new mail.box for you.
