Mail body content not visible

Hi All,

We are not able to see the email body content when an email is sent from a lotus notes application.

This is happening to one our user who submits a document in one of the database. Email will be sent to the approver once this document is submitted. However, the approver cannot see the body content when opened the email [the email body should contain some lines of text and a document link].

NOTE: There is no issue with the application that is sending email because, other users who are using the same application and sending emails, do have the body content.

So, will there be any issue with Notes Mailbox of that particular user ? (I have checked all possible places like ‘preferences’, ‘user security’ etc in user mailbox but could not find any issue.)

Appreciate any help or suggestions to resolve this issue.

We were able to resolve this issue by re-installing the Notes Client in user’s notebook.

Are the other users using a different/modified mail template? Maybe with a modification that shows a special field if the mail is from this application?

The mail body is existing when we checked the incoming email document properties. However, the body does not contain the content (blank).

I will check and confirm the mail template used by issue mailbox and non-issue mailbox.

Check the “Format preferences for incoming mail” field on the user’s Person document in the Domino Directory (and compare the value with some ‘working’ users). This setting affects how Domino converts the body field of incoming messages for specific users.

Hi Phil,

I have checked the person document of recepient, sender & another user. The “Format preference for incoming mail” field is set with “Keep in senders’ format”, in all three documents.

Are there any other settings I need to verify ?

Can you check if the code is correct? In order to see the content to the email bosy, the application should populate the text to a field named Body

Hi Savvas,The application code is perfect because, the same code is working fine with other user(s). Meaning, the other user when submitted the document to same approver using the same form, the approver has received the mail and is able to see body content.

We have cross verified the application functionality by changing the approver name to some other name. The same issue persists with the new approver too.

So, we have come to conclusion that the issue is with the sender’s system/mailbox.

Are there any other areas to check ?
