Our CFO has a strange problem. He got a few e-mails from our president last week, but yesterday he got the same e-mails again. The original e-mails were dated 12/05 but the ones he got yesterday had the NEW date (12/12) in his message list but when he opens them they say 12/05 at the top.
I don’t have any custom agents running that might have re-processed them as far as I know. I have checked the President’s sent folder and they are not in there.
One hint might be that the original message has the normal format at the top of Firstname Lastname but the second message (which arrived a week later) has First initial Last name format.
Do you allow your users to write their own personal agents? He may have tried to create an agent and then gave up part way though, but left the agent enalbed.
If you disabled personal agents in R5, there is an INI entry you (may) need to enforce this security option after you migrate to 6.5. Not 100% sure for Linux.
Those are the folks who DO write an agent that sends this type of mystery message. We had one that created an agnet with 1 line that resent every email they received to everyone on the to line! Very efficient!
