Mail attachment display only a grey icon but attachment lost

Hello,

When I receive mail from certain senders with attachments, in mail body I see only a grey icon with file name, but attachments are lost. It happens either with or without Interational MIME setting enabled on Domino Server.

Is it a bad Domino configuration.

Any help would be appreciated.

Subject: Had the Same problem

We had the same problem after we upgraded our mail server from 6.5.6 to 8.0.2. Awhat resolved it for us, was in the address book under the person document in the basic’s tab. we had to change Format preference for incoming mail to “Keep in senders format”

once we did that the problem went away.

Subject: It seems it happens only when mail was sent from MAC clients

This setting in Person Document was already changed. It seems happening only when the sender (no matter which mail program he uses) is a MAC user…

Any suggestions?

Subject: sender problem

The only time I have seen this is when there is a memory issue on the sender’s end. Basically, the client didn’t have enough memory to create the attachment, but it created the icon and sent the message. User was a Notes client.

Having the sender reboot and then create the message again solved the problem.
