Mail archiving not working

Hi,

I am trying to resolve the mail archivation issue. I have setup the ‘Policy document’, the ‘archive settings document’, the ‘archive criteria document’ and I have assigned the policy to the user.

When I run ‘Load compact mail\user.nsf -a’ command on console, I see this answer:

Archived mail\user.nsf, 0 documents were archived and 0 were deleted

Any ideas, what am I doing wrong here?

Every time I execute the command, I go to administrator and make some changes there. Then again I execute the same command to test possible changes

Here I am not sure, if the changes in Administrator are applied immediatelly ??? Do I have to replicate the names.nsf document between the 3 servers which we use in our company first? The user is registered on different server …

Thx

Juraj

Juraj,

If you intend on running archive using on the console or via program doc, your archive policy setting must be set to archive on the server. The archive criteria must also indicate the same.

If you are making changes on the address book on a different server then you must replicate the changes over to the users home server for the changes to be effective.

1.I can not find anything in archive criteria document, which indicates, that archive should be stored on server

If I understand correctly, if user has a home server A and I perform a change in Domino directory document, this change is applied immediatelly for the user.

Or is there some casching involved?

I was able to solve my issue with info in this tech note:

http://www-1.ibm.com/support/docview.wss?rs=899&context=SSKTK9&context=SSKTL5&context=SSKTM2&context=SSKTMJ&context=SSPQ69&context=SSCVRGU&context=SSPQ7E&context=SSPQ5C&context=SS5N9B&context=SS5NA4&context=SSKTPA&context=SS5LUA&context=SSMT72&context=SSMSB2&context=SSTJRD&context=SSKTWB&context=SSKTWP&context=SSYSVG&context=SSKTXQ&context=SSKTYF&context=SSTJRP&context=SSKTZF&dc=DB510&dc=DB520&dc=D800&dc=D900&dc=DA900&dc=DA800&dc=DB530&dc=DA600&dc=D600&dc=D700&dc=DA500&dc=D200&dc=DA410&dc=DA450&dc=DA430&dc=DA440&dc=DA420&dc=DA460&dc=DB300&dc=DA470&dc=DA480&dc=DB100&dc=DA4A10&dc=DA4A20&dc=DA700&dc=DA4A30&dc=DB550&dc=D100&q1=archiving+policy&uid=swg21162287&loc=en_US&cs=UTF-8&lang=all

Short solution:

The casing (uppercase and lowercase) that is used to register the server must match the casing that is used in the “Server name” field of the Person document; otherwise, archiving will not work.

Hope this helps to everybody with the same issue …
