We have a small users base of Notes users. Every year we manually create a new mail file for each users and leave the old mail file on server for reference. This works best for our company.

I want to know what is the best way to move a users calendar entries in the old mail file to the new mail file?

I generally select all the calendar docs going back a year. Then past them into the view in the new mail file calendar.

By doing this we get a fresh mail file for the user. I use the copy mail file and do not copy the documents over.

Better Suggestions anyone?

I don’t think we can guarantee that by copying/pasting entries from one mailfile to a new one that the entries will still work 100% of the time. I would suggest that archiving out the old data you no longer want to keep in the mailfile and leaving the existing mailfile alone. You can always create a new archive database if you still want to keep them separated by year.

I realize this doesn’t work best for your company but doing it this way is the best practice.
