I am experiencing a problem with type-ahead when addressing an email message when there is a local directory catalog and not being able to find users in the servers address book. Current configuration is
Lotus Notes Client 6.5.2 on Windows XP Service Pack 2.
Lotus Domino Server 6.5 for iSeries on OS400 V5R3M0.
Server uses a Primary Domino Directory, no directory assistance but a Directory Catalog (sorted by Last Name). Directory catalog includes 3 dirtectories including the directory for the Domain the server is in.
The Servers configuration document has the Type-Ahead enabled.
The client has the local address books set to names.nsf and a replica of the directory catalog from the server. The local replica of the directory catalog also has a full text index.
The Location settings are set as follows:
Recipient Name Type-Ahead = Local then Server
Activate Recipient Name Type-Ahead = On each character
Recipient Name Lookup = Exhaustively check all address books
When typing a person’s first name (someone not listed in the personal address book) it does not find the name. If I remove the directory catalog as a local address book then type-ahead on first name starts to work again. I would expect this to work as the Primary Domino Directory will allow type-ahead on first name and the location document says local then server.
So it appears that if I have a directory catalog sorted on last name then it will not perform lookups on the servers Primary Domino Directory.
Has anyone else experienced this problem (or can you reproduce it)?
Does anyone know a way to solve the problem?
I know that the 6.5.3 client has a problem with local directory catalogs sorted on last name but I am testing with a 6.5.2
