Mac: Unread Mail Count Not Updating in the Dock

We have 2 Mac users. One of them is complaining that the unread mail count is not showing up in both the Inbox and above the icon in the Dock. The other user is fine. We have a policy setting to automatically refresh the Inbox for all users. This policy setting looks to be applied. Is there any workaround to fix this issue?
