<Mac> Removing Sametime icon from menu bar?

Is there any way to disable Sametime from the Basic client? I use Adium instead.

Subject: You can do this,

in order to remove the icon from the status bar, do this.

go to the Applications folder,

right click Notes.app

select “Show Package Contents”

edit this file in a text editor, "/Contents/MacOS/rcp/plugin_customization.ini

Add this line

com.ibm.collaboration.realtime.application/useSystemTray=false

Save file,

Restart Notes, icon should not show up in the status bar.

Is there also a way to remove the icon showing “new mail” in the status bar?

(I’d like to have the mail client silent while I work).

But Sametime is not active as long as you don’t log in.

This is infuriating. I already have the most-needed icons on my menu bar, and this is taking up precious real estate. Please provide at least a terminal-based fix, as I understand building in a preference setting would take considerably more time. I can’t even see it as a separately running process. PLEASE!!!
