MAC OS to Notes Migration?

Hi Geeks,

              I was just looking if there is some way of migrating the MAC mail client users (i.e. their mail files) to Lotus notes.

Please let me know if there is a way of doing this.

I don know of good way to do this for many users but I have moved a few users over by setting up a account in Mail, pointing to the domino server using imap and then drag oldmail over to that account.

Basically the steps are

  1. Create accounts in domino

  2. Enable imap on dominoserver

  3. Configure each Mail users with a imap account pointing to the dominoserver and the right account.

  4. Drag the old Folders to the new IMAP account on the dominoserver.

You could look into applescript to see if you could automate this, i didnt because it was so few users, so im not sure what actions and objets Mail expose to applescript.

Hi Stig, Thank you very very much for the detailed steps. I could follow all the steps except for the last one which is “4. Drag the old Folders to the new IMAP account on the dominoserver.” Could you please throw some more light on this.

What is the source system you are migrating from? How many users? You can use a tool called CMT (Common Migration Tool) from BinaryTree (www.binarytree.com) It has the ability to migrate from many different types of mail systems to Lotus Notes.

Hi Spencer, Thanks for your reply, the source is MAC OS mail which needs to be put into Domino that is NSF format, any converters or connector?

CMT is not available for the migration from MAC to Notes.
