Mac client and tcp port

We have some macbooks that we’re trying to run Notes 7.0.2 on. Mac OS is 10.4.8.

Problem we’re having: The tcpip port does not show up.

Tried File/Preferences … new port - doesn’t allow adding any ports - only thing that displays is bluetooth.

I’ve tried reinstalling and also running the Configuration wizard - nothing seems to make a difference.

TCP is working fine - I can get to the internet without problems.

Read about using Ninix - notes ini editor and making some changes to that (in some older posts) but it seems that file is not supported any longer. I downloaded it but when I attempt to run it, get a message indicated I need a newer version.

Thanks in advance to anyone who has ideas on this.

I use NiniX all the time. You will always get that upgrade message. Click OK and you can still use the product without any issues…

Thanks for the response Julie.

Sorry - I didn’t list the next message I received after the upgrade message.

“An Exception of class NilObjectException was not handled. The application must shut down.”

Not familiar enough with the Mac to know where to go from here.

Any ideas on why I’m getting that message?

Thanks for your help.

I think I had this problem also. Sorry I can’t better recall, but I think a simple reboot may have cured the problem.

If that doesn’t work, try moving your Notes preferences file to another location so that Notes has to run the configuration wizard using a fresh preferences file. My preferences file resides within my (user) Library preferences folder, not in the hard drive Library.
