I’m using LS2J to invoke Java code from a script library. This script library contains a JAR that does most of the work … it’s just a wrapper for objects in the JAR. The code in the JAR tries to connect to a remote server.- When originally developed, the JAR had “localhost” hard-coded, just to get it working. The “remote” server was, of course, this machine, and all worked beautifully.
-
So I recoded to support the specification of a host, instead of assuming localhost, then I put that JAR in the script library (deleted the original and recopied it from the hard drive), put that JAR in the ext directory for Domino (since it was there), copied the server bits to another machine here on the network, and touched it off.

This whole test scenario runs on a button in the Notes client. When I click the button, I get an error from LS2J saying that connection was refused on localhost, even thought the script library quite clearly instantiates the object using the now-remote server name.
-
Any idea why it appears to be ignoring the server name? This is my first LS2J usage, so I’m sure I’m simply missing something. I’ve spent the entire morning searching this forum, and have also searching nsftools.com, which appears to have a lot of LS2J stuff on it.

I deleted the database entirely … it’s only one script library and one form with one button on it. Then I recreated the entire database.- Without putting Uselsx “*javacon” in the Options of the button, IT RUNS THE CODE and gets the same error. Do entire databases get cached somewhere, such that utterly eradicating them, restarting the server, and rebuilding them from nothing has no effect?

Subject: Delete client cache gives “Error accessing producton object method”…
- Closed both client and server, deleted cache.ndk & desktop6.ndk, restarted server, restarted client, added icon back to workspace, and it gets the error above.- Opening the test app in Designer and doing a rebuild works without any errors. Guess I’ll look for the error above and see what happens…

The original problem was in fact cache.ndk. It seems more than passing strange that Design changes, and even entire database deletions, should be utterly ignored because they’re cached. Hopefully there’s some setting, like a browser, that tells Notes to check for a new version every time, or some such. I do so much web development that I sort of assume (!) this will happen.- The second problem was because some silly developer changed a method signature in the Java script library and didn’t update the LS2J call accordingly.

Now alles ist gut…
